Some might say the same thing about the original Christmas offer; God in the flesh, as a baby, born in a stable, in Bethlehem. Perhaps it’s a deal too good not to be true.

Join us as we discover whether God’s deal is too got not to be true.

The Third Trimester can be a difficult time. It’s exciting to know that the birth is just around the corner, but these months also bring deep questions and great anxiety. What if the birth does not go right? What if we don’t make it to the hospital in time? Am I ready to be a mom or dad? What if there is something wrong with my baby? Questions just bring more questions and more anxiety. Consider the questions and anxiety Mary and Joseph were facing: Who is the child? Why were we chosen? Do we really have to travel to Bethlehem? A stable and a feeding trough, is that the best we can do?

Advent reminds us that life does not always go according to our plans, but with God there is hope.

Some events in life are so unexpected, so startling, so overwhelming, that at the moment we hear them they can be difficult to believe or accept. In Luke 1, we learn that the announcement of Jesus’ birth was that kind of event. No matter what you face today, the incarnation of Jesus reminds us that if God is in it, anything is possible. Join us as we discover the power of the incarnation.

What is a Christian? Some would say a person who believes that Jesus is the Messiah. Others might add that person needs to be baptized. Still others might say a person needs to confess particular doctrinal statements. But according to Scripture, mental assent to a certain belief system is only part of what it means to be a Christian. As we conclude our Journey Sermon Series, we will explore what it means to finish the journey of faith in Christ.
